What is it with pizza and garlic bread manufacturers? The names of the dishes seem to get longer and longer! Tescos Finest provolone & pecorini mozzarella tear and share claims to be Italian styled dough with garlic and parsley hand finished with Italian provolone & pecorino, extra virgin olive oil, roasted balsamic garlic and mozarella. Sounds promising!
My first thought was what are provolone & pecorino? It turns out provolone is the beautiful cheese you often see strung up with twine and hung from the ceiling of Italian food shops. But what is it? Imagine Mozzarella – with a much fuller flavour. Pecorino is the name of a family of hard Italian cheeses made from ewe's milk.
The garlic bread is about 6 inches wide. The base is very deep and fluffy, probably about an inch deep. It wasn't burn't and tore so easily. It tasted quite strongly of garlic and was slightly crispy and was delicious.
Perfect with anything Italian. It makes a very nice change from thin garlic bread. It was also great value on a 2 for £3 offer.
