There has been quite a lot of disagreement with allie's original review of Aldi's Carlos Diavolo Pizza. We've tried for the past couple of weeks to find one to re-review but with no luck. We'll keep trying but in the meantime I picked up this Aldi's Stone Baked Caprino Goats Cheese and Spinach Pizza to review instead which was a 2014 own label winner of 'The Grocer Food and drink' awards.
Let me start by saying it is a lovely pizza. It tastes delicious and the toppings are plentiful and very good quality. There is savoury goats cheese, creamy mozzarella, rich spinach, garlicky sauce and sticky fried onions.
The issue I had was however I cooked it I couldn't get the toppings and the base to come together resulting in a slightly over cooked base. You may have better luck but if not I recommend putting some sugar on the toppings and put it under the grill to finish it off and let the toppings catch up.
If it wasn't for the issue with the base I'd give it a perfect 6 pizza slices.
