Co-operative pizza's are a bit hit and miss. Sometimes they are very authentic and other times they are quite disappointing.
This new 'Loved by Us' Thin & Crispy Hawaiian Pizza is 'inspired by the restaurants of Napoli, where they hand toss the dough to give an ultra thin centre. The dough is then fermented to give that authentic taste, the topped with our signature in-house sauce and baked through our blazing stone baked oven to give a distinctively bubbly crisp crust'.
First, the dough. It was not authentic. I found it thicker than I would have expected and quite doughy. I had followed the cooking instructions exactly, and even put it back in the oven but it was still the same.
There were lots of toppings but not particularly good quality. The one surprise was their 'signature sauce' which the co-op claim ' Our in-house delicious tomato sauce made with an Italian passata, basil, garlic & black pepper. A fresh flavour inspired by the rich sauces typical of traditional pizzas found in Napoli'. It was very authentic and the stand out for me with this pizza. Sadly it wasn't enough for me to be quite disappointed with this pizza.
