As we wondered where to eat after a couple of hours sightseeing in the Old Town of Prague we stumbled across this great restaurant, U Bodovice, in a small square just off the main square in the Old Town. Who could resist a sign for pizza and a beer for 180 Czech Koruna each.
This is a cosy and quirky place and I can imagine it gets busy, but at 1pm on a Thursday there was just one other couple.
The décor is unusual with mirrors and old furniture. We ordered a Vesuvio pizza and Pils each and weren't disappointed. Service was well paced, you never felt it was too slow or fast.
Its is definitely worth making the effort, particularly if you are getting a little tired of Venichnitzel or Pork Knuckle and want great value in a superb location. This is a strictly cash establishment, like so much of Prague, so make sure you’ve got enough before you go in.
If were ever in Prague again we would love to go back for an evening meal when apparently a jazz band plays between 8 and 11pm.
To finish on a quirky note the toilet is across the passageway and you have to ask for a key to open the door.
