"Memoro Italia" is Latin for remember Italy, and was born as a cuvee wine from the Piccini famlies Italian pride and created as a tribute to their countries wine making legacy and love of life.
It's got plenty of rich black cherry-flavour, with coffee and tobacco on the nose and hints of dried figs and prunes. Reminiscent of Port but with a dry, complex palatte which is also very elegant.
The Memoro Italia complemented my Margherita pizza but it would also be fabulous with red meats and richly flavoured foods and strong cheeses.
It’s a non vintage (NV) meaning it is made from grapes harvested in more than one year.
I got this on a half-price offer for £4.99 but I'd happily pay full price or even double. Brilliant!
